WWE Star Hurt After Hometown Snub
One WWE star has been left hurt after missing out on appearing at a big live event in their hometown.
WWE held a weekend of live events in Mexico on the 13th and 14th of July with Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and the LWO all in action with Santos Escobar challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
2 WWE stars noticeable by their absence – especially in Monterrey – were Angel and Berto who hail from the town. Angel took to social media to share that he’d be missing out alongside a GIF of him shrugging his shoulders [translation by Google]:
Unfortunately today I am not in the #Supershow of my hometown MONTERREY NL but enjoy and I hope to see you next time
Desafortunadamente hoy no estoy en el #Supershow de mi ciudad natal MONTERREY NL pero disfruten y espero verlos para la próxima 👊 pic.twitter.com/SU8ybr0ONw

Angel Not Happy After Missing Out On Hometown WWE Show
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Angel’s reaction to missing out on his hometown show despite being in town and doing a very public appearance before it:
So an interesting Angel sorry. He went on social media, he didn’t complain, but he just sort of said “There’s a lot of guys on the roster…” but he and his cousin were definitely hurt that they weren’t on tonight’s show in Monterrey because that’s their hometown.
It appeared because Angel threw out the first pitch at the Monterrey Sultanes baseball game, I guess they’re gonna bring him in because he’s doing that. As it turned out, he did throw out the first pitch at the Sultanes game so he went to Monterrey but he was not used on tonight’s show at all.
Stephanie Vaquer was in action on the show after making her WWE debut as she defeated a current champion two nights in a row.
