WWE Star Gushes Over John Cena After Retirement: “What An Honor”
John Cena is now a former WWE star, but one person very involved in his last match has now reflected on their part in history.
On December 13th, 2025, John Cena competed in the final WWE match of his illustrious career when he took on Gunther. In the end, the man who preached “Never give up” did so with a resigned smile on his face as he tapped out in the sleeper hold, apparently happy to be free of his burdens.
The finish of the match was not loved by those who had forked out a fortune to celebrate Cena’s career. Triple H was showered with “You f*cked up” chants as he led the WWE locker room to ringside to pay their respects to Cena. At the post-show event, fans went as far as to chant “AEW” at WWE’s Chief Content Officer, showing that his honeymoon in the hot seat is well and truly over.
Lilian Garcia Thanks “The GOAT” John Cena
As Cena’s last match took place at Saturday Night’s Main Event, it was perhaps only fitting that that meant Lilian Garcia would ring announce for Cena one last time.
Now, taking to social media, Lilian Garcia has sent a message to John Cena, thanking him for the memories as he calls time on his career:
What an honor @JohnCena to not only have announced your final match last night but your matches throughout your career! You truly are the GOAT. Thank you for the memories & your dedication. #thankyoucena #snme #ringannouncer #wwe #johncena
