WWE star John Cena doesn’t want to retire.

On December 13, The Never Seen 17 will hang up his wrestling boots for good after an extensive career of 23 years. His last match will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC.

His final opponent is yet to be announced. WWE is currently holding a tournament to determine the worthy contender to face Cena in his final match.

Speaking of final matches, Cena wrestled his last RAW match on this week’s edition of the red brand in Madison Square Garden, which also marked his final appearance for the brand.

He wrestled a six-man tag team match with Rey Mysterio and Sheamus against The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, JD McDonough, and Dominik Mysterio. The babyfaces won the match.

WWE Legend John Cena Isn’t Ready To Retire

Later in the night, John Cena joined Sam Roberts and Megan Morant on RAW Recap after his final Raw appearance at Madison Square Garden. During the interview, he revealed that he does not want to retire from the ring.

He said that if it were for him, he would wrestle for as long as he lived. But he made a promise to the WWE Universe that when his body starts giving him signals, he would step out of the ring.

“I’m not going out on my own terms. If I could do this in infinity, I would do it. I made a promise to the fan base when I started that when I got a step slower, I gotta walk away. Yeah, I could probably squeeze out more matches, but at what cost?

I do harm to myself, I do harm to the product, and you as a fan who’s allowed me the opportunity for over two decades to spend time with you, you leave feeling bad or sad.”

Cena is scheduled to have his next match at Survivor Series on November 29, where he’ll put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dirty Dom. He won the title on the November 10 edition of Monday Night RAW.
