It seems WWE has major plans for one SmackDown star after they finally made their in-ring debut on the blue brand against a WWE Hall of Famer.

Edge made his return to WWE television on SmackDown in Madison Square Garden as a guest on The Grayson Waller Effect. The Rated-R Superstar began by speaking about the historic surroundings before Waller cut him off and began teasing that Edge was set to make a big announcement.

Waller eventually told his guest that he believed he was there to announce his retirement from the ring but Edge had other ideas. Instead, Edge told Grayson Waller it was time for him to sink or swim as later on they would be facing one another in a match.

In the end, the experience of Edge proved to be decisive as he nailed Waller with a big spear for the win. Afterward, however, he told his opponent that he had indeed swam.

Grayson Waller joined SmackDown as part of the WWE Draft earlier in 2023 but the Australian star had not competed on the blue brand before. Waller had suffered a broken leg during his last in-ring outing against NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes back in April but thankfully, he now seems to have recovered and the sky could well be the limit for him.
