WWE Star Calls Out Fans For Hypocrisy Over John Cena
John Cena has been appreciated for his hard work and commitment to the industry, especially during his Farewell Tour when he did everything possible to give the WWE Universe one last of almost everything.
The Champ turned heel, became the only 17-time world champion, held the Intercontinental Championship for the first time, became a Grand Slam Champion, and worked a match against some of the names in WWE.
In his final match, John Cena tapped out to Gunther. The ending sparked debates within the WWE Universe about whether it should have been a heroic send-off or if the current send-off was agreeable.
Gunther exposes fans’ hypocrisy over John Cena
The Ring General spoke on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, and he revealed that while fans have become extremely emotional about the ending of John Cena’s career, its only recently that they have begun appreciating him.
Prior to that, the WWE Universe was booing him even when he was working as a babyface.
I think people were kind of like nervous realizing it. That whole thing is coming to an end now. And overall, sometimes it’s a little bit funny with fans to me because in this last run that Cena had, especially the second half of it, people were so yeah, the connection, the people, is just amazing.
I think I’ve never seen something like that before, but it’s also funny when you think back, I don’t know, like when was that, 10 15 years or something like that, maybe even longer, he was the most hated guy on the whole roster. He was a baby face, but he went out there, and he got booed everywhere he went. People complained that he got shoved down their throats and whatever.
And here we are. Um, yeah, 10- 15 years later, and people act like it never happened and the situation never existed, and now they all love him. Um, yeah, bit hypocritical if you ask me sometimes. Um, but that’s what that’s what the fans are. Whatever is the flavor of the month, they jump on it.
