A WWE star is set to take time off after suffering an injury.

On the April 18th edition of SmackDown, LA Knight launched a vicious attack on Tama Tonga as he arrived at the arena with Solo Sikoa. Finishing off the assault, Knight slammed Tonga’s hand in a car door before leaving. Later in the night, it was announced that Tonga had been taken to hospital in the aftermath of the attack.

Now, it seems that the angle was designed to write Tonga off TV. According to Bodyslam.net and PWN’s Cody Whoades, the star is dealing with an undisclosed injury that may require surgery. It is currently unknown how long Tonga will be out of action.

Tama Tonga joins his brother Tonga Loa on the injured list. Loa has been sidelined since Survivor Series WarGames after suffering a torn bicep during the war between Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns’ competing versions of The Bloodline.

LA Knight Loses WWE United States Title At WrestleMania 41

At WrestleMania 41, Jacob Fatu defeated LA Knight to capture the United States Championship. Fatu didn’t need any allies to claim victory as he took down Knight in impressive fashion. Knight was able to land a BFT, only for Fatu to reach the ropes to break the pinfall.

This was all the Samoan Werewolf needed as he came back with two big Moonsaults to claim the win and his first singles title in WWE.
