WWE Star Dominik Mysterio Gets Candid About Real-Life Love Story
Since turning heel, Dominik Mysterio has elicited strong crowd reactions, becoming one of the best polarizing figures in WWE today.
After initially facing criticism for his inexperience, he showed tremendous improvement, earning plaudits from industry veterans and fans alike. Post betraying his father, Rey Mysterio, to join the Judgment Day, Dominik slowly transitioned into “Dirty” Dom while staying inside the faction and aligning with Liv Morgan as his on-screen love interest.
The 28-year-old captured his first gold, becoming the Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania 41 by defeating Penta, Finn Balor, and Bron Breakker.
In a sit-down chat with former WWE co-CEO and Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon, Mysterio, who is married to Marie Juliette, got candid about his real-life love story.
We were both 14, and I don’t…I don’t wanna say I think, I know she did not like me. I don’t know what it was. I think she’s, like, very to herself and she doesn’t like cocky guys.
Mysterio also shared that he forced himself into the Spanish class in school, hoping to get Marie’s attention.
Speaking about how he eventually won her over, Mysterio credited his persistence, asking her out multiple times before the two ended up together.
Persistence Is A Virtue For Dominik Mysterio
Dominik Mysterio credits his persistence trait for his success in the WWE.
He even cited an anecdote about his first practice match at 20 years old, when he wrestled four wrestlers in a row with Jay Lethal overseeing. After the first match, he wanted to quit, but persisted and finished.
Mysterio also spoke about feeling overwhelmed about touring different cities around the world recently, but he got through it all because he persisted.
