WWE Star Doesn’t Think Next Champion Is In WWE Yet
Dominant title reigns seem to be all the rage in WWE these days with Roman Reigns approaching 1,000 days as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion following his heartbreaking WrestleMania 39 win.
The Usos lost their WWE Tag Team Championship at that event against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens bringing an end to their 622-day reign as champions – the longest in company history for a tag team title.
While it was the end of an era for The Usos, WrestleMania saw the era of The EST continue in WWE as Bianca Belair defeated Asuka meaning her reign as Raw Women’s Champion now stretches over a year.
Another title reign that continued after WrestleMania was Gunther’s who saw off the challenge of Drew McIntyre and Sheamus to remain Intercontinental Champion. Gunther’s reign will have hit 300 days by the time SmackDown takes place on the 7th of April and he is already third on the list of longest Intercontinental Title reigns of all time.
Speaking to Ryan Satin for FOX Sports, Gunther discussed what’s next for him in the company and says he thinks the man who eventually dethrones him might not even be on the WWE roster yet:
“That we shall see. (WrestleMania) was my focus, let’s see what happens on SmackDown. I guess I’ll see who is next in line. I’m fairly confident.
“I’m not sure if the man who is going to be able to beat me if he’s arrived here already (in WWE). Everybody go out and find him.”
