Former WWE Star Admits Crying Over John Cena’s Retirement
John Cena’s retirement at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII left a lot of people with watery eyes.
A former talent of the promotion recently admitted to bawling while watching a tribute video for the 17-time world champion.
Hornswoggle, real name Dylan Postl, is currently signed to the company under the Legends contract. However, during his ten-year stint between 2006 and 2016, he was a viral sensation.
Starting his career as the ‘Little Bastard’ by appearing in a leprechaun costume alongside Finlay, he transitioned into ‘Hornswoggle’ due to his habit of cheating and swindling.
He was subsequently entered into the WWE Cruiserweight division, where he won the Cruiserweight Championship in 2007 by defeating Jamie Noble.
Later that same year, he was revealed as the illegitimate child of Mr. McMahon. Postl even claimed that there were plans for a match between him and McMahon, but the plan was scrapped.
During a recent interview with SoCal Val for WrestlingNewsCo, the 39-year-old revealed crying over John Cena’s retirement.
I was flying home yesterday. I had an appearance on Wednesday in Indiana, and I was flying home, and WWE put out that tribute video of sorts from all the wrestlers, the crew, and everyone. Man, I was bawling like a baby on the flight. He said it best on Chris Van Vliet. He goes, “If you are doubting that this is going to be my last, you’re gonna be upset with yourself.” [17:17 onwards]
