Popular WWE Star May Convince John Cena To Turn Babyface

John Cena

John Cena has 19 dates left before he hangs up his wrestling boots.

The WWE Undisputed Champion’s latest appearance was at Phoenix on June 9, wherein he was confronted by CM Punk.

The former champion will challenge Cena for his title in Riyadh at Night of Champions PLE.

Cena last wrestled at Money in the Bank in a tag team match alongside Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. During the match, R-Truth made a shocking return and attacked the champion.

The leader of the Cenation had turned on his fans at the Elimination Chamber PLE. Since then, fans have been speculating when he will become babyface again.

While he has shown no signs of turning into a babyface again, wrestling fans refuse to believe that John Cena will retire as a heel.

R-Truth May Play A Role In John Cena’s Character Arc

R-Truth, who returned to the company as Ron Killings, may play a major role in Cena’s character realigning with the WWE Universe.

On the recent The Last Word podcast, the panel discussed the purpose of Killings’ WWE return.

Tommy Carlucci, a former WWE employee, even claimed that the turn could happen as early as SummerSlam in August. He suggested that the segment can be a series of backstage sections, instead of another Cena-Truth match.

It could be a backstage pre-tape (of) him following Cena around. I’m not actually talking about a match because I don’t think that will happen.

But I’m thinking interfering with Cena every chance he gets, ‘Hey, dawg, let me talk to you. We’ve been bros for 20 years. This character of yours is not working;’ just going back and forth. I could see that happening and him making the turn to make Cena turn babyface. Big pop at SummerSlam, both of them in the ring or something. [From 10:40]

R-Truth faced John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a non-title match, which the latter won.
