Released WWE Star Was Considered To Win 2022 Royal Rumble Instead Of Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar returned to WWE TV at SummerSlam 2025 and took down John Cena.
Before his SummerSlam return, he was expected to come back at the Royal Rumble, but that creative angle was halted owing to his name being involved in the lawsuit against Vince McMahon.
Now that he is back, fans are looking forward to whether WWE will revive his rivalry with John Cena or not.
Matt Riddle claimed that he was supposed to win Royal Rumble 2022 and not Brock Lesnar
During an exclusive interview with Inside The Ring, the former WWE Superstar revealed that around Royal Rumble 2022, one angle considered was him winning it, and that leading to RK-Bro completely breaking up.
However, it was eventually discarded, and the global juggernaut went ahead with Brock Lesnar winning it.
You know, people are gonna hate, but there was there was it was pitched. It was pitched. I’ve talked to multiple producers about it, etc. And it was pitched because they wanted to. This was still when they were trying to break me and Randy up. So, the idea was I win the Rumble, but then I get a title shot, but then Randy’s mad that I got the title shot, and I’m kind of abandoning our team of RK-Bro to fulfill my dream of becoming world champion, you know, and that was that was pitched, you know, and that was the thing. But they went a different route. I believe Brock won, you know.
