Another legend will be saying goodbye to WWE and the wild world of pro wrestling in 2025.

At Money In The Bank, John Cena shocked the world by announcing his intention to retire from in-ring competition in 2025. The former WWE Champion is set to embark on a year-long 35+ date retirement tour before finally hanging up his boots at the end of the year.

Although Cena will remain under contract, he’s adamant he’ll never wrestle again after his final match.

Meanwhile, outside of WWE, NJPW legend and current company President Hiroshi Tanahashi has announced he’ll retire after Wrestle Kingdom in January 2026. Tanahashi is widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers in history, having begun his career with NJPW back in 1999.
