A former WWE Champion has confirmed his in-ring future.

Corey Graves joined the Stamford-based company in 2011. However, his in-ring career was cut short due to concussion issues. The 41-year-old officially retired in December 2014 and transitioned into a color commentator.

Nevertheless, many have speculated about the former NXT Tag Team Champion’s potential return to in-ring competition. In 2023, he clarified that he was open to a one-off comeback but not a full-time run.

Last night on WWE RAW, Graves confirmed that his in-ring career was done for good while commentating on El Grande Americano’s match against Dragon Lee.

El Grande Americano has clearly gotten himself in phenomenal shape. He’s been doing some different leg training, obviously some extensive stretching (…) Miracle of modern workouts. I’m retired. I don’t work out anymore. But I imagine you do a couple of squats, maybe some ankle raises

Corey Graves Recently Returned To WWE RAW

Following Pat McAfee’s return to RAW several months ago, Corey Graves was reassigned to NXT, a move that did not sit well with him. After voicing his frustration on social media, the former NXT Tag Team Champion reportedly had significant heat backstage.

However, the company executives have seemingly moved past the issue as recent reports suggest Graves was back in favor, and maybe in line for a push. He recently returned to the main roster as McAfee went on hiatus.

The 41-year-old WWE star addressed his situation after serving as commentator on Worlds Collide, explaining that he had gone through a rough patch during which his passion ran low.

Sometimes, you run low on passion. But then, something like this weekend happens.

Gracias por permitirme entrar en tu mundo, @luchalibreaaa.

I only wanted to do your culture & business proud.

Thank you to @Konnan5150 for dropping the important knowledge and being a genuinely first class human being. He loves this more than any of us will ever understand. Can’t wait until the next one.

Thanks to you guys, for reminding me that a rough patch isn’t the end of the road.
