Major WWE Star Confirms They’ll Be A Free Agent In Early 2025
Could a top WWE star really walk away in 2025?
Back in late 2021, Kevin Owens signed a new big-money contract with WWE which tied him to the company for another three years. The deal was said to be the biggest of his career and worth somewhere between $2 and $3 million per year.
At the time there was a great deal of speculation that Owens could eventually move to AEW, especially as he has several close friends working for the company.
Fast forward to May 2024, and KO confirmed he had just nine months left on his WWE contract, and was unsure what might come next. Perhaps surprisingly, it seems little has changed.
Kevin Owens Still Hasn’t Signed New WWE Deal
During a new interview with Rick Ucchino for Sports Illustrated, Owens confirmed he’s yet to negotiate a new contract.
He tells The Takedown on SI that the only change in his contract status since then is that there’s now less time on his deal.
Despite seemingly inching closer to a departure, when he gave that update in May, the former Universal Champion admitted he didn’t see himself leaving WWE.
This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.
Back in the ring, Kevin Owens is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title at Bash In Berlin.
