WWE Star Details Close Relationship With The Undertaker

The Undertaker

A WWE star was left star-struck by their first meeting with The Undertaker.

Since retiring from in-ring competition, The Undertaker has made no secret of the fact that he’s struggled to accept that he can no longer wrestle. However, that doesn’t mean he’s tried to stay away from the industry.

As well as hosting his podcast and one-man show, the veteran has made regular appearances at the Performance Center as a guest coach, while offering advice backstage. This eventually led to him working as a coach on WWE LFG, the company’s spiritual successor to Tough Enough.

During this period, the WWE legend has often spoken up in support of Omos, who he believes has all the tools to be a top star for years to come. Interestingly, it seems there’s more to the pair’s relationship than occasional comments in the media.

The Undertaker Continues To Guide Omos

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Omos reflected on his career to date while lifting the lid on how he ended up in Japan with Pro Wrestling NOAH. During the conversation, he also delved into his relationship with The Undertaker, explaining how The Deadman has become something of a guiding voice.

Omos admitted he was star-struck when he first met the WWE Hall of Famer, but that hasn’t stopped them from developing an important bond.

“I’ve been blessed from the first day. I remember the first time I met him. I was at NXT, this is when we were still filming at Full Sail. I’m walking to Gorilla in the back, and I see Hunter. Hunter goes, ‘Hey, I have a special surprise for you.’ He [Undertaker] just walks out, and I rarely get star-struck. I just go oh it’s The Undertaker! He goes, ‘Hey big fella’, and he just gave me a big hug.

I was shocked. I was shook. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and from that day it just became like a bond. He’s pretty much like, because he can’t be my dad, sorry Taker, but he’s been such a great influence on me, and I appreciate him. We talk quite often. He gives me advice.

Whenever I’m trying to figure out a match or a spot, I always ask, What would Undertaker do? Because I do admire how he’s been able to transcend the business, because he has built one of those characters that, even after he passes, that character is going to be forever.”

Despite being recalled from his starring role with Pro Wrestling NOAH back in January, Omos is yet to return to WWE television, once again finding himself on the sidelines. The star hasn’t featured for the company since taking part in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024.

During the same interview, Omos admitted he doesn’t know when he’ll return to action, but promised to be ready whenever the call comes.
