WWE Star Opens Up About Close Friendship With Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is just a “really good dude.”

Even before he signed with WWE, it was an open secret that Ricky Saints is good friends with Cody Rhodes. The pair worked together in AEW, and even when Saints was still All Elite, he was on hand to watch Rhodes with the 2023 Royal Rumble.

Not that everyone was impressed by his presence.

In an interview several months after the event, Ricky Saints revealed that an unnamed AEW star had confronted him over the visit, claiming it “wasn’t a good look.”

While speaking to Good Karma Wrestling, Starks was asked about how often he brags about being friends with Rhodes. He admitted that he didn’t before giving fans an insight into their friendship.

“Not a lot, actually. He’s a really good dude, great dude. He has helped me out tremendously in wrestling, outside of wrestling, with my family. My family loves him. I love his family. To me, he’s just Cody. I don’t think of him as ‘WWE Champion.’ That’s just my man right there. He’s doing it. He’s doing his damn thing.”

Cody Rhodes Set For Champion Vs. Champion Clash

At Wrestlepalooza, Cody Rhodes beat Drew McIntyre in the main event to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. In turn, that win set up a date with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel for the Crown Jewel Championship.

Following the event, it was reported that there was a pitch for McIntyre to win at Wrestlepalooza, but it was eventually decided that Rhodes’ reign should continue.

It’s been another great year forCody Rhodes, who recently topped the PWI 500 for a second consecutive year. In the process, he became only the fourth wrestler to achieve that feat, following Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena.
