A WWE superstar has shed light on their upcoming Hollywood project.

In May 2025, Liv Morgan was taken off TV so she could film her scenes for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo in Japan.

The former Women’s World Champion discussed the details of her movie during a recent appearance on What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon.

Something came across my table. It was the third installment of ‘Bad Lieutenant’ directed by Takashi Miike, he is a legendary Japanese director. He has the scariest films ever. I love horror. I watched his movie ‘The Audition,’ and I had to look away. I’m not squeamish. Visually, I could watch it all, but this movie, I was like, ‘Whew!’ He has a way of making you so uncomfortable.

Morgan explained that she got 17 days of filming time, and the character she plays is unlike anything she has done before.

I got to play this character that is so different than anything I’ve ever done. The WWE fans are going to see me in a way that I don’t think they’ve ever expected to see me. It was such an amazing experience. It reminded me so much of WWE. We get so much prep at work that I don’t think we realize until we’re in this scenario.

Liv Morgan Surprised That WWE Let Her Do A Movie

Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo is distributed by Neon and also stars Lily James and Shun Oguri alongside Liv Morgan. While no official date for its release has been announced, Morgan has hinted at an October 2026 release.

She also recounted how WWE encouraged her to pursue it, which came as a surprise to her.

I was shocked that WWE let me. I remember asking Triple H, ‘Do you like this for me?’ He was like, ‘If I didn’t think it would be good, I wouldn’t let you do it.’ He gave me some advice because he had done films. He was like, ‘Just go for it.’ ‘Yes, sir,’ and then I was on my way to Japan, and I went for it.

Liv Morgan has previously starred in the Chucky TV series as well as the 2023 movie, The Kill Room.
