Top WWE Star Has Interesting Take On Charlotte Flair/Tiffany Stratton Spat
A major WWE star has broken down the recent controversy between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton.
The rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton has been under the microscope even before a segment described by WWE figures as a “wreck” shocked SmackDown.
This saw the two women go off-script almost immediately as they traded increasingly personal insults as the crowd took over.
It was reported after the show that there was heat on both women over the incident, with some backstage feeling Flair should have worked harder as the veteran to keep the segment on track.
Tiffany Stratton Vs. Charlotte Flair Will Benefit From Issues
In a new interview with Outta Pocket, Seth Rollins was asked whether he had any thoughts on the segment and the apparent animosity between the pair.
The former World Champion said that to be successful in wrestling, everyone needs a thick skin, while placing emphasis on the fact that all segments should be a collaboration. Rollins suggested that the harsh words will help their match, but noted that when someone goes beyond a certain boundary, they have to expect whatever comes back in response.
“I do have some opinions about it, but they are sort of….no matter what, it’s a collaboration. It should always be a collaboration. I’ve been out there, in the ring, with people I didn’t like. There is a certain respect that you share and a communication that should happen and an understanding.
One of my favorite people in the world is John Cena. John always told me, whenever we cut a promo together, ‘You say whatever you want out there. We’re on TV. It’s fair game. Anything you want. My skin is thick.’
In our industry, you have to be able to do that. You have to be able to have a thick skin because we are in the conflict business. The best conflict we can sell is real-life conflict. Our audience is so smart, they can sniff things out a mile away.
In my opinion, what happened was the best thing that could have happened for their story because we’re on this podcast talking about it right now. Had it not happened, we wouldn’t even be thinking about it, at all. In my opinion, the direction it went, it’s going to help bolster their match leading into WrestleMania.
Now, can we get both of them to come together and work together? TBD. We’ll see. I don’t know. I’ve been in the ring with people and been in promos with people that I didn’t like, but there is always an understanding of what lines to cross.
If you’re going to break that agreement, you need to be prepared for what comes back at you. I’ll leave it at that,”
Meanwhile, it’s been reported WWE was “very happy” with the latest segment between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. A week on from their promo battle that went totally off the rails, WWE officials were said to be pleased with how the pair responded and subsequently worked together.
