WWE Star Confirms Changes To Company’s Banned Substance List

WWE Triple H

WWE has changed its banned substance list.

The public perception of marijuana in the United States has shifted greatly in recent years with the substance now legal in many states. While it still remains a huge talking point in sports especially, WWE has seemingly taken a laid back attitude.

During an appearance on THE SPEAKEEZY podcast, Michin confirmed WWE has removed marijuana from its banned list after accepting that many wrestlers regularly use it.

“Because it’s (marijuana) more legal, they’ve kind of accepted it. So before, that used to be — marijuana used to be on the drug list and they took that off a couple years ago. So, when I get home on Saturdays, I’ll do that, and just chill out all day and then I get back into the gym on Sunday. Sunday through Wednesday, I work out…

Although WWE doesn’t publicly disclose the identity of anyone who falls foul of the rules on banned substances, it doesn’t mean action isn’t taken. In a February 2024 interview, Matt Riddle revealed he was suspended twice by WWE after failing two drug tests for cocaine.

Riddle said the company fined him but decided against making the incidents public, he also noted that he wasn’t tested for marijuana.

Michin Opens Up About WWE Struggles

During the same interview, Michin admitted she struggles to connect with the crowd and doesn’t really know what her character is. However, she noted that it’s much easier since WWE’s management changed to say no to creative ideas if people don’t feel comfortable.

Michin went on to reflect on her spell in RETRIBUTION suggesting she should have passed on the idea, while expressing disdain for her time in The Dollhouse while with TNA.

In late 2024, Michin made it to the final of a tournament to crown the first-ever Women’s United States Champion. Chelsea Green ultimately won the title, with Michin most recently in action in the women’s Royal Rumble Match.
