WWE Star Has Changed Training To Wrestle In AAA
A WWE star has opened up about the importance of their matches in AAA.
24 years on from Vince McMahon’s purchase of WCW, WWE announced the acquisition of the famous Mexican Promotion, AAA, in early 2025. Michael Cole broke the news during the WrestleMania 41 pre-show, shortly after a new Worlds Collide event involving talent from NXT and AAA was announced.
Since then, several WWE stars have become almost regulars for the Mexican promotion as the two rosters have become more and more intertwined.
At Worlds Collide on September 12, that integration reached new heights as Dominik Mysterio beat El Hijo Del Vikingo to claim the AAA Mega Championship.
Lola Vice Excited To Carry WWE Flag In AAA
One of the stars who has made an impression in Mexico is Lola Vice. After launching her career with NXT in 2023, Vice quickly became one of the top women on the brand. However, through 2024 and into 2025, she found herself dropping behind the likes of Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Jordynne Grace, and others.
But a series of appearances in AAA has allowed Vice to reestablish herself.
In a new interview with Uncrowned (via Yahoo Sports), Vice looked back on her Mexican debut, describing the moment as “insane.”
“I remember my first show there … it’s completely sold out, and it’s at least 12,000 people there.
I was like, ‘Whoa, this is insane.’ But I’m also the type of person that performs better with a bigger crowd, so it’s so fun for me to go over there and also be able to hear the crowd, and be in the moment and learn from that.
It’s just a completely different story that I’ve been able to bring (from) that into NXT.”
Vice went on to reveal that it’s become something of a running joke in NXT that she’s become one of the regulars for AAA despite not wrestling anything close to a traditional ‘Lucha’ style. But interestingly, she said that’s something she’s been working on with the likes of Sol Ruca and Kelani James.
“There’s a joke in class where they call me ‘Lucha’ Lola, because I don’t do flips or anything like that, but now I actually work in lucha, so I’ve had to adapt to that.
Actually, my friends like Sol (Ruca) and Kelani (Jordan) have actually been training me in the acrobat part of this, because we all push each other. And then I help them with their striking — I tell them when a strike looks like s**t or it doesn’t.
We try to feed off each other and make each other better. I think that’s the magic that we have in the women’s division on the show right now.”
Lola Vice is set to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at No Mercy on September 27.
