WWE Star Can’t Retire Until AJ Lee Returns

One WWE star is “starving” for AJ Lee to return to the company.

Back in January, it was reported that WWE would be more than happy for AJ Lee to be a surprise Royal Rumble entrant. While the Rumble came and went without her returning, fans and stars alike are still clamouring for the three-time Divas Champion to make a comeback after nearly a decade away.

One of those stars is current Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi, who told The Wrestling Classic that she has been harassing Lee’s husband, CM Punk, about the star getting back in the ring.

“Of course. I be harassing her husband about that all the time. I told him, I said, ‘You need to tell her I can’t retire until she comes back.’ Girl, you need to come on because mama’s back is hurting.”

Naomi is so invested in Lee’s return that she says she can’t retire before seeing her back in the company.

“I can’t retire until she comes back. I’m so for real, and she knows it. It’s crazy. For her to be gone over a decade and to still be missed and to still be wanted so bad, I think speak volumes and just tells you what she did for women’s wrestling and who she was.

“So I think it’d be a treat, a present, a reward for all of us, having her come back, even if it’s just a ‘hey and bye,’ a quick little [appearance]. We starving, sis [laughs].”

WWE Stars Working On In-ring Return For AJ Lee

Back in October, Cora Jade claimed she was working on getting AJ Lee back in the ring. The star isn’t alone though, as Roxanne Perez has joined her in badgering CM Punk about getting Lee to return.
