WWE Star Calls The Bloodline Civil War At MITB “One Of Best Matches Ever”
One WWE star puts The Bloodline’s MITB clash among the best matches in history.
The Bloodline have been central to WWE storytelling over the past few years, and ahead of Money in the Bank, The Usos officially severed themselves from Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, leading to a Civil War clash at Money in the Bank.
The clash was an emotional one, and to the shock of many, Jey Uso was able to pin Roman Reigns to end the match, handing Reigns his first pinfall loss since Baron Corbin defeated him in 2019.
Speaking to Konnan on the latest episode of K100, fellow WWE Superstar Karrion Kross opened up about telling stories in the ring, saying he now understands how important it is to get fans invested in the characters involved ahead of big WWE bouts as opposed to the matches he was having on the independent scene.
“I mean I’ve always tried to tell a story of what I’m doing to give people a reason to really care just behind having a winner or loser. How imperative it is to have like a real reason, um, why these guys are in the ring, I think that’s —
“I overlooked that prior to getting into WWE because it wasn’t a necessity to have because a lot of the matches we could have on the independents were cold matches. You go in there. It’s the first day that you met the guy. If you’re smart and you’re a professional, you’ve watched his stuff so you can understand what he does, and you guys from your timing together with the time allotted out there live.”
Continuing, Kross praised the Bloodline Civil War clash as one of the best matches of all time due to its storytelling. To Kross, the experience of that match was like watching a movie unfold.
“Being in the machine now and seeing how important storytelling is — I can give you a prime example. That tag team match with The Bloodline, the Civil War, that was in my opinion, that was one of the best matches I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m not just putting it over because I’m in the company, I just mean I felt like I was watching a movie.”
