WWE Star Intends To Bring Out The Worst In Opponents
This WWE star does a deep dive into his character and his motivations.
Some WWE stars have detailed backstories and psychological insights about the characters they play on screen. One such star is Aleister Black.
Black is a wrestler riddled with tattoos all over his body, which define his look, but fans don’t have an explanation from the WWE star for what they mean or stand for.
Aleister Black has maintained his character throughout his run in AEW and WWE, but has never shared much about it in interviews-until now.
WWE’s Aleister Black Reveals What Tattoo On His Throat Signifies
Speaking to Tattoo Life, Black shared intriguing psychological insights on the tattoo he has on his throat.
He says the heart tattoo on his throat with the snake eye and an arrow piercing it meant that it’s important to clear your heart of venom, which is something hurt from people’s actions gets turned into. This, in turn, will make him do something he’s not proud of.
For me, having “my heart in my throat” was a nod to anxiety and depression, but also – given the snake eye on it with an arrow piercing it – a reminder to let the venom out of your heart. I have done things I am not proud of because people did things to me that I am sure they aren’t proud of, and the latter can poison your heart.
Hurt turns into venom, corrupting what you perceive as fair and numbing the care you should have for yourself and for others. The idea that ‘everyone is corruptible’ grew out of these experiences and, at the time, shaped a jaded view of the human race.
Black admits that having gone through all those emotions, the tattoo now serves as a reminder of the wisdom gained with age, and it’s the emotional source that he uses to fuel his promos and narratives.
Now, however, the tattoo serves as a reminder that we have grown older and wiser, worked through those emotions, and become better versions of ourselves. It is the same emotional source I draw from for promos, narratives, and character responses. The character sees no boundaries between good and evil and is hell-bent on proving how he can ruin everyone by bringing out their worst. It started in the previous company with Cody Rhodes, all the way to the WWE with Damian Priest, etc.”
Aleister Black lost an ambulance match on SmackDown last week to Damian Priest, effectively ending their months-long feud.
