WWE Star Breaks Character After Wild Crowd Reaction
Backlash France is in the books and while many of WWE’s top stars took to the ring, all anyone was talking about afterwards was the wild crowd in Lyon.
At Backlash France, a WWE star returned after ten years away to join The Bloodline as Solo Sikoa solidified his grip on the group in Roman Reigns’ absence. Jade Cargill captured the first gold of her WWE career at the event as her stock continued to rise in the company.
But it was undoubtedly the Lyon crowd that stole the show as they showered WWE stars – whether bad guys or good – with chants as the arena shook for most of the night. One person on the receiving end of unlikely support was AJ Styles who challenged Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship.
WWE’s AJ Styles Est Vraiment Phenomenal
The crowd sang the 1997 tune by Phenomenal Club aptly entitled ‘Il Est Vraiment Phénoménal’ to The Phenomenal One and despite his mean disposition, he couldn’t help but comment on the incredible reaction he received.
Taking to social media, AJ Styles wasn’t sure if he should say anything since he’s a bad guy but couldn’t help but pay tribute to the Backlash crowd who serenaded him:
Wasn’t sure if I should say anything, being a bad guy and all but…Lyon, France. IL EST VRAIMENT, IL EST VRAIMENT, Il EST VRAIMENT PHÉNOMÉNAL LALALALA
Wasn’t sure if I should say anything, being a bad guy and all but…Lyon, France.
IL EST VRAIMENT, IL EST VRAIMENT, Il EST VRAIMENT PHÉNOMÉNAL LALALALA

Ultimately, Styles was unable to defeat Rhodes but will hope for more success when he enters the King of the Ring tournament. The full bracket for the King of the Ring tournament has now been revealed.
