WWE Star Break Silence After Surprising Return
One WWE star has shared their first message after making their shocking return to the company.
Andrade El Idolo recently made headlines when he made his surprising return to AEW just a few short weeks after he was let go by WWE. Andrade’s release was said to be related to wellness policy failures, and he was escorted out of a SmackDown taping prior to being let go.
There were suggestions that another WWE star could be on their way to AEW after it emerged that Santos Escobar had rejected a new WWE deal and had left the company as a result. One report suggested that Escobar was unhappy with his creative direction despite the new offer increasing his pay.
Santos Escobar Makes WWE U-Turn
However, two days after his apparent exit, it emerged that Santos Escobar had signed a new deal with WWE after all. As well as an even bigger pay increase, management is said to have leaned into Escobar’s issues with his creative direction, meaning he could be featured more prominently very soon.
Taking to social media, Santos Escobar shared an image of himself apparently screaming at the sky, perhaps showing his delight with how much he’ll be making as part of his new deal.

During his time in WWE, Escobar has held the NXT Cruiserweight Championship and headed up the Legado del Fantasma faction. He had a short stint in the LWO before turning on the group and joining up with Berto and Angel. The last time fans saw Escobar compete on TV was at the June 2025 Worlds Collide show with AAA, where Legado del Fantasma defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano & Psycho Clown.
