WWE Star Blacklisted Female Co-Workers Who Refused To Sleep With Him, Says Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch is one of the most popular WWE stars today.

But like everyone else, she started at the bottom rung of the talent roster, and recently revealed a harrowing story about a top male wrestler using his popularity to manipulate female stars.

During an appearance on Something’s Burning, the former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion disclosed how the female talents were warned against interacting with a particular male wrestler.

Without revealing the identity of the person, Lynch claimed that the male star often used his influence to control women’s career progression based on whether or not they slept with him.

Regardless of whether they agreed to his demand or not, he could blacklist them.

At the time, it was also, ‘Stay away from the boys. Don’t go near the boys. No, stay away from the boys.’

But it was certain things like — I’m not going to name names, but there was a guy on the main roster who was like, ‘Be careful. Be careful, because if — one, he’ll try to sleep with you. If he sleeps with you, then he’ll blacklist you. And if he tries to sleep with you and you don’t sleep with him, he’ll also blacklist you.’

So there was this line that you had to walk — this tightrope. You know him definitely. But anyway, at one point, it was like, how do you walk this line of, you know what I mean.

Becky Lynch added that there was fear among WWE’s real-life couples, too, highlighting gender bias towards female talent.

She stated that if a couple broke up, the company would often fire the girl and not the guy.

So there was always this thing of, like, if you get into a relationship and things go south, they’re not going to fire the guy. They’re always going to fire the girl. You know? So it was a very, very scary thing. [H/T: Ringside News]

Stories about modern-day female wrestlers enduring such incidents are comparatively rare, showcasing the amount of progress the wrestling business, and WWE in general, has made.
