WWE Star Shockingly Attacked Off The Air During SmackDown (Video)
There was an off-camera attack on a WWE superstar who was in action on SmackDown.
Sami Zayn continued his United States Title Open Challenge on WWE SmackDown by defending the gold against NXT’s Je’Von Evans. Since SmackDown was in Orlando, that meant NXT talent was in the area, so Evans stepped up to challenge Zayn.
There was a point in the match where Evans hit his top rope OG Cutter on Zayn, and it got such a close nearfall that the fans chanted, “Ref, you suck” after the two count.
The electrifying Evans put up a tremendous fight against Zayn, but the talented veteran Zayn won with a Helluva Kick followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb.
Before the match, NXT’s Josh Briggs was shown at ringside since he’s facing Je’Von Evans at NXT No Mercy on September 27th.
Following Evans’ loss, he was walking at ringside and Briggs nailed him with a clothesline to knock Evans down. It was not shown on SmackDown, but it was posted on WWE’s social media channels.

After his busy night, WWE posted a video with Je’Von Evans talking about his busy night.
“Bro, what a…what a crazy experience, you know what I mean? It was an honor answering the US challenge. You feel me, my first opportunity at the United States Championship, and the Young OG almost won. But Sami Zayn came off on top, so I appreciate him.
But then Josh Briggs had the nerve to come and interfere in my business. So Briggs at No Mercy, I’m not just gonna win, I’mma beat your ass…and that’s facts!”
