WWE Star Apes Shawn Michaels & Loses Smile

One WWE star has followed in the footsteps of Shawn Michaels as they lost their smile, but it seems it was all part of a bigger plan.

Shawn Michaels is one of WWE’s top executives and a Hall of Famer considered by many to be the greatest wrestler of all time. But in 1997, Shawn Michaels was an unreliable basket case who caused no end of issues in WWE.

In February 1997, Shawn Michaels claimed his career might be over due to a knee injury as he forfeited his WWE Championship claiming infamously that he’d lost his smile. The truth was Michaels didn’t want to lose the title to Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 despite The Hitman doing the honours for Michaels one year previously.

Miraculously the knee injury that might have ended his career came to nothing and 3 months after giving up the richest prize in wrestling, The Heartbreak Kid was back in the ring again where he just so happened to win the WWE Tag Team Title with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Incredibly, injury again forced Michaels not to have to lose that title with Dude Love replacing him as Austin’s odd-couple partner.

Ethan Page Learns From Shawn Michaels

Now it seems one NXT star has been learning from Shawn Michaels as Ethan Page appeared on the 17th of December edition of NXT TV to say that he had lost his smile after suffering defeat after defeat.

Je’Von Evans took pity on Page and urged him to shed his ‘All Ego’ persona and let his real self shine through. Ethan Page, however, took the opportunity to turn on Evans, bloodying him with a vicious and sustained attack.

Shawn Michaels was assaulted by one NXT star after a title match on the show ended in a huge controversy with two referees involved.
