WWE Star Aiming To Replace Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair has a target on her back.

After missing the entirety of 2024 with a major knee injury, Charlotte Flair returned to action in stunning style at the 2025 Royal Rumble. The star entered the match at number 27, and just 15 minutes later she’d booked herself a shot at championship gold at WrestleMania.

Flair then chose to face Tiffany Stratton, but their path to the spectacular has been far from straightforward.

One segment was described by WWE figures as a “wreck,” with the two women going off-script almost immediately as they traded increasingly personal insults as the crowd took over. While an earlier face-off was also heavily criticsed online.

Tiffany Stratton’s Rivalry With Charlotte Flair Runs Deep

During an appearance on the OneFall Podcast, Stratton looked ahead to her match with Flair and explained why their rivalry is about much more than the Women’s Championship.

“Yeah, I think this match doesn’t even start with the past six weeks. It doesn’t even start with her winning the Rumble and her picking me. I think it starts with she’s the reason why I got into wrestling. She is who I looked up to, who I saw on my TV screen.

Who I idolized, and I had it already set in my mind that she is a dream match of mine, even before I got signed to WWE. So this goes back much farther than that. She’s obviously one of my idols, and at WrestleMania, I think this is when I solidify that I am the new generation and I’m here to take her place.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported WWE was “very happy” with the latest segment between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton. A week on from their promo battle that went totally off the rails, WWE officials were said to be pleased with how the pair responded and subsequently worked together.

On this occasion, the segment went off as planned, and everyone backstage was happy with how it played out.
