All first-round matches of WWE’s ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament are now in the past, with seven of the final eight competitors now finalized. The stage would’ve been completely filled had it not been for an untimely injury.

John Cena’s longtime friend and rival, Sheamus, was part of the final eight of the tournament after he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in his first-round match-up. However, he suffered a shoulder injury recently and has now been ruled out of the tournament.

It comes as a huge blow for him and the fans, who wanted to see him face Cena one last time. While we await an update on his replacement from WWE, two more wrestlers joined the last eight tonight. First of the two was Carmelo Hayes, who advanced earlier in the night with some help from Cody Rhodes.

Penta advances to the next round in WWE’s Last Time is Now tournament

The second match of the night saw Penta take on Finn Balor in a match which rekindled their rivalry from earlier in the year. The two wrestlers have been at each other’s throats in the past and their match tonight showed there was no love lost between the two.

They traded moves after moves to no end till Penta emerged as the winner in the blink of an eye. Balor tried to pin the luchador in the corner but Penta used his quickness to pull off a Mexican Destroyer and advance to the round, where he’ll face Solo Sikoa.
