WWE Staff Warn Crowd Over Explicit Chants

Triple H WWE

WWE staff had to censor fans after they got a bit too explicit as they took their frustrations out on a hated star.

NXT Vengeance Day could have been the biggest night of Trick Williams’ career by far but instead, it ended in disaster and heartbreak.

Tensions had been running high between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams ever since Williams was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant which took Williams out of a number one contender’s match for the NXT Championship.

Suspicion fell on Carmelo Hayes as he ended up winning that match and seemed uncomfortable that Williams’ star was rising on the brand. Williams won the Iron Survivor Challenge to guarantee himself a shot at the NXT Championship with that bout delayed until Vengeance Day.

That seemed to upset Hayes more as he wanted Williams to partner with him in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with the final of that tournament also set for Vengeance Day. The Trick Melo Gang got to that final meaning double duty for Williams but they were seen off in the final by Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin who won the Dusty Cup.

In the main event, Trick Williams still had the chance to win gold but ultimately came up short against Ilja Dragunov. Worse was to come as after the match, Carmelo Hayes broke hearts by attacking Williams and smashing his knee with a steel chair.

WWE Staff Put A Stop To Explicit Chants

Carmelo Hayes opened the 6th of February edition of NXT and was not greeted warmly by the fans in attendance. “F*ck you Melo!” chants could be heard greeting the former NXT Champion but that caused WWE to take action.

PWInsider reported that after the first segment, WWE staff told fans to not use “f-bombs” in their chants and it seems they complied following the instruction. Hayes appeared later in the show but the chant did not return but the boos and jeers did for the backstabbing star.
