WWE Spoil NXT Mystery In Edited Post

Triple H NXT boss Shawn Michaels WWE

WWE may have just spoiled their own surprise after changing a report into what happened at NXT No Mercy.

At NXT No Mercy, Jacy Jayne put her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Lola Vice. Vice’s momentum had built over recent weeks with vignettes putting the spotlight on her home life and family, leading many to wonder if Vice’s time had come and she was about to walk away with the gold.

At No Mercy, Vice looked to be in control of the action when she was attacked by a mysterious hooded figure, allowing Jacy Jayne to pick up the win and retain her title.

Many fans had presumed to know that it was Lainey Reid wearing the disguise after her own backstage run-in with Vice and reports suggesting she was about to replace the outgoing Jazmyn Nyx in Fatal Influence. That was all despite Reid being pulled from her own title match on the show where she was meant to challenge Sol Ruca for the WWE Speed Championship.

Despite the mystery of Reid’s identity continuing on the show, WWE has now spoiled the matter by editing their own report on the match. WWE’s match report now reads:

Jacy Jayne retained the NXT Women’s Championship thanks to a shocking assist from Lainey Reid.

The champion used her technician skills to keep the powerful Vice off her feet and pinned down to the mat.The champion continued her assault on the outside, which included a huge rolling senton into the steel steps.

One swift kick from Vice rocked Jayne and changed the complexion of the match, and the champion unleashed a flurry of strikes as her family cheered from ringside.

Vice seemingly had the match won, but Fallon Henley pulled the official out of the ring to stop the count and was ejected from ringside.

Out of options, Jayne grabbed the NXT Women’s Title and tried to use it as a weapon, but she was thwarted by the official.

Out of nowhere, Jayne hit Rolling Encore, but Vice executed her Spinning Backfist and fell out of the ring.

A hooded figure appeared and cracked Vice with a running knee strike at ringside. Moments later, the challenger rolled back into the ring and suffered a final Rolling Encore.

The first line containing Reid’s name originally read:

Jacy Jayne is still the NXT Women’s Champion, but not without some controversy.
