WWE Star To Make Special Appearance With Pro Wrestling NOAH
WWE is continuing its relationship with Pro Wrestling NOAH.
One of the biggest developments in WWE during the ‘Triple H era’ has been the company’s willingness to work with other promotions. Since The Game took control, WWE has regularly worked with John Barnett’s Bloodsport, Marigold, TNA, and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
While NXT’s crossover with TNA is ongoing, the company has regularly sent talent to NOAH with the likes of AJ Styles, Josh Briggs, Tavion Heights, and Shinsuke Nakamura all heading to Japan.
It’s now been confirmed that the relationship will continue with Nakamura returning for NOAH The New Year 2025 event on January 1st. At the event at the Nippon Budokan, Nakamura will face Ulka Sasaki.
The announcement came during NOAH’s event at Korakuen Hall on October 14th.
“NOAH, it’s been a while. After that miraculous fight, WWE’s SHINSUKE NAKAMURA will return to Nippon Budokan on New Year’s Day! Who will be standing in front of me?”
Nakamura last wrestled for the promotion in January 2023 when he defeated The Great Muta.
WWE Eyeing Return To Japan
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that there’s a backstage push for WWE to return to Japan for another big international event.
Back in July, the sports entertainment giant returned to Japan for a run of three live events featuring the likes of Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre, Bayley, Bianca Belair, and more.
The run of shows was the company’s first in the country since 2019 and proved to be a big hit with not only fans but the wrestlers involved.
