WWE SmackDown Spoilers For December 26

The WWE SmackDown episode for the day after Christmas was taped a week in advance.

Due to the holiday season, WWE had a double taping on December 19th in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where they taped the December 22nd episode of Raw, and the December 26th episode of SmackDown.

The reason for the double taping is to give talent nearly a week off leading into Christmas on Thursday, December 25th. The annual live event tour to end the year begins on December 26th, and there’s also the final live Raw of the year on December 29th in Orlando.

For the WWE SmackDown brand, the final two episodes of the year are taped episodes since they taped the December 19th episode at the same time as the December 15th Raw.

WWE SmackDown Taping Results For December 26th

One of the matches set up on December 19th was a showdown between Joe Hendry and The Miz, which will kick off the December 26th SmackDown. The full spoilers are below.

A Joe Hendry concert kicks off SmackDown, featuring Otis dressed up like Santa as well as Akira Tozawa and someone in a bunny suit. Hendry sings a song making fun of The Miz, so The Miz interrupts angrily, and this leads to a street fight between the two.

Match #1: Joe Hendry defeated The Miz in a Street Fight when the bunny got involved. The bunny was revealed to be R-Truth.

Match #2:Charlotte Flair defeated Lash Legend.

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Michin each called each other out in separate backstage segments.

Former NXT Champion Trick Williams is shown backstage, and it’s revealed that he’s now a free agent. He’s looking to get signed to SmackDown. Williams bumps into Cody Rhodes backstage, who is looking for Nick Aldis, and the two briefly exchange words.

Match #3: United States Championship: Carmelo Hayes defeated Ilja Dragunov to become the new WWE United States Champion in an open challenge. After the match, Dragunov hugs Hayes and puts the title on him. Reports claimed that it was a fun match that the crowd loved.

Match #4:Giulia and Kiana James defeated Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre when Giulia pinned Green.

A backstage segment with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss turns into a brawl with a bunch of women. Nick Aldis announces an 4-team tag team match for the #1 contenders for the January 2nd edition of SmackDown.

Damian Priest vs. Aleister Black and Jade Cargill vs. Michin for the WWE Women’s Championship were announced for the January 2 SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre came down to the ring, yelled at the referee, and was still mad about Cody attacking him at his home. It was announced that the WWE Championship match between Rhodes and McIntyre will be a Three Stages of Hell match at SmackDown in Berlin on January 9th. Drew said, “Cody, when I send you to hell, say hi to your dad for me.” Chaos ensues as they fight.

The January 2nd episode of SmackDown in Buffalo, New York, will see the blue brand return to a three-hour show.
