WWE SmackDown Sees Top Star Advance In John Cena’s Tournament
WWE is about to host one of its biggest matches in a few weeks as John Cena will be hanging up his boots after one final match on next month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. His final opponent, however, remains undecided.
The ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament, designed to figure out the last person Cena will face in the ring, is heading towards its conclusion, and two wrestlers have already moved into the semi-finals of the tournament.
This past Monday night on RAW, Gunther and Solo Sikoa made it to the next round after their wins over Carmelo Hayes and Penta, respectively. Tonight, another superstar joined them in the semi-finals.
Jey Uso advances in WWE’s ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament
In the first of two tournament matches tonight, Jey Uso faced Rusev as both of them looked to advance in the tournament. They both have some history with Cena and have faced The Champ in the past.
Rusev overpowered Jey in the match for most of their time their time in the ring, but the former World Heavyweight Champion proved his mettle against the Bulgarian Brute and came away with the win.

After being on the backfoot for most of the match, Jey ultimately got the three count after hitting Rusev with a Spear and following it up with an Uso Splash from the top rope.
