Top WWE SmackDown Rivalry Expected To Continue

WWE SmackDown

A feud between two of the biggest WWE superstars on SmackDown keeps on going.

There are several long-term feuds on the SmackDown brand, including Damian Priest’s battles with Aleister Black, Solo Sikoa’s MFTs, and the Wyatt Sicks stable, and of course, the WWE Title feud as well.

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes successfully defended the championship against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza in September, and again at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st.

In their SNME match, Cody gave Drew a DDT on the WWE Title in a match where Cody would have lost the title if he was disqualified. However, the referee was bumped, so Cody wasn’t punished for it, and Cody went on to win the match.

When Cody faced Aleister Black for the WWE Title, Drew caused a no-contest by attacking a referee. Drew has been suspended since then, yet he was still in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

On the December 5th edition of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes attacked Drew McIntyre while he was in his car. The attack was stopped by security and officials, so Drew drove away. After the attack, Cody went into the ring to implore SmackDown General Nick Aldis to lift McIntyre’s suspension.

WWE Plans To Keep The Cody Rhodes-Drew McIntyre Rivalry Going

It has been reported by BodySlam.net’s Patreon page that there’s going to be more of the Rhodes-McIntyre rivalry.

“The feud between Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre is set to continue with another match taking place very soon. While specific match details are being kept tight, the expectation is that the next confrontation will have significant storyline implications for both men.”

They did not report on when the next Rhodes-McIntyre will be.

At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, which will be headlined by John Cena’s final match against Gunther, Cody Rhodes will face the NXT Champion Oba Femi in a Champion vs. Champion Match without a title on the line.
