WWE SmackDown Leaving FOX Early
WWE SmackDown will be leaving FOX ahead of schedule.
Back in September 2023, it was announced that SmackDown would be leaving FOX and heading to the USA Network in 2024.
The deal will keep the blue brand tied to NBC Universal for five years, and at the time it was confirmed the switch would take place in October 2024. However, it seems that will no longer be the case.
NBCU has now officially rolled out its cable list for 2024/2025, and it says that SmackDown will return to USA Network on September 13th. There will also be a “WWE Week” starting on September 9th, where USA will air films from the Fast and Furious franchise starring The Rock, Blockers featuring John Cena, and the Bray Wyatt: Becoming Immortal documentary.
WWE Agrees New Deal For Raw
The news comes after it was revealed that WWE has reached a new agreement with NBCU to keep Raw on USA until January.
Before the extension was agreed, Raw was technically homeless from October when the original deal expired, until January 2025 when its huge new deal with Netflix kicked in. However, in the new TKO Group earnings report it was noted a stop-gap agreement was reached worth $25 million.
