During a backstage interview on WWE SmackDown, Carmelo Hayes addressed his match in the Last Time Is Now Tournament that could lead to an eventual match against John Cena.
“John Cena. The GOAT. The Last Time is Now Tournament, you got a long line full of heavy hitters, killers, all want to be the one that’s going to put you down, all want to be the one that’s going to hang your jersey from the rafters, and respectfully, John, I’m one of them. 50% of people might overlook me; 50% of people might know that I can get the job done. But 100% of me knows that if I get that shot, I won’t miss.”
As for the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, John Cena, he is ready for his final Monday Night Raw appearance as an active wrestler in New York City on November 17th.
Over 23 years you’ve allowed me to have 544 matches on #WWERaw. The most in WWE history. My favorite match.. is my next one! Which will be our LAST ONE! Don’t miss our last chance to grace @TheGarden ring as we say farewell to RAW live, Monday night on @netflix at 8pm ET!
