WWE SmackDown Gets New Ring Announcer
More change is coming to WWE on Friday nights.
Back in October, Lilian Garcia made a surprise return to WWE following the equally surprising departure of Samantha Irvin.
Once back with the company, Garcia worked as a ring announcer before heading to SmackDown in early 2025. Her role on Monday Night Raw was taken by Alicia Taylor. However, following the March 14 edition of SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain, Lilian Garcia announced she was stepping down.
Although she hasn’t left the company and will continue working on Saturday Night’s Main Event, the move left SmackDown without a full-time ring announcer. But not for much longer.
Mark Shunock Confirms WWE Deal
As confirmed on social media, Mark Shunock will be handling the ring-announcing duties on the blue brand starting on March 28 from the o2 Arena in London, England. In the post, Shunock revealed that he would be known as Mark Nash in WWE.
Shunock had previously worked for Top Rank Boxing and is the current in-arena host for the NHL franchise the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
On SmackDown, LA Knight will put the United States Title on the line against Braun Strowman, while the Street Profits defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Pretty Deadly.
The show is set to be headlined by the huge WrestleMania contract signing involving CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.
