WWE Showing Interest In Signing Major NJPW Star
WWE is one of the largest professional wrestling companies in the world, and it continually strives to maintain its status by keeping its roster fresh and updated.
In an effort to do so, the promotion recently announced a few major call-ups from NXT to the main roster. Stars like Trick Williams, Jordynne Grace, and Je’Von Evans have already been moved up from the black and silver brand.
Meanwhile, other prominent names, such as Oba Femi, Lola Vice, and Blake Monroe, are likely to follow suit. While this would leave NXT a little low on star names, WWE is reportedly looking to tackle that by bringing in a major NJPW wrestler over to the promotion.
NJPW star David Finaly is on WWE’s radar
David Finaly, son of WWE legend and current producer, Fit Finlay, has been a part of NJPW for the last decade, but his contract is nearing its expiry now, and it doesn’t seem like the former Bullet Club leader is renewing with the promotion.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the 32-year-old is on the promotion’s radar, and while talks haven’t begun with him directly, they are interested in signing the NJPW star, particularly for the NXT brand.

He wouldn’t be the first big-name NJPW wrestler to feature for the brand, as both Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura spent time down in NXT before moving up the roster. If he does end up signing for the promotion, he would be reunited not only with his father but also with his younger brother, Brogan Finlay, who wrestles on NXT as Uriah Connors.
