WWE Sent Cease & Desist Due To Raw 30 Plans
A new report says that another wrestling organisation sent WWE a cease and desist over their original plans for the 30th anniversary of Raw.
The original plans for Raw is XXX was for an “acknowledgement ceremony” to take place for Roman Reigns with “every generation” of the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty slated to be in attendance. That plan ended up falling apart with reports that legendary stars Afa and Sika (Roman Reigns’ father) were not ready to travel and The Usos’ and Solo Sikoa’s father Rikishi fell ill. Instead, The Trial of Sami Zayn took place on the show.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Major League Wrestling had sent a cease and desist to WWE after the company allegedly contacted MLW talent to appear on the 30th anniversary of Raw:
“MLW sources have said that they have sent a cease and desist letter to WWE after the promotion attempted to contact some of its contracted talent to appear on the Raw 30th anniversary show. One would think it would have been members of the Anoa’i and Fatu family for the planned family acknowledgment ceremony, which ended up falling through.”
“MLW sources have said Court Bauer told the talent to have WWE reach out to them directly, and didn’t say he wouldn’t allow them to appear, just to go through him. They never did and the segment ended up being canceled for the reasons noted earlier. WWE didn’t respond to questions regarding the cease and desist or the claim.”
MLW star Lance Anoa’i recently discussed his previous experience in WWE where he found himself going one-on-one with Shane McMahon.
