WWE Sending Unbooked Stars To Saudi Arabia

WWE Saudi Arabia Stadium

WWE are seemingly willing to stomach the travel costs ahead of Night Of Champions, as they are flying out stars who aren’t currently scheduled to compete.

There are three headline contests being billed by WWE for their return to Saudi Arabia – the grudge match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defending the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, and AJ Styles and Seth Rollins will do battle to become the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.

However, with a stacked lineup there are now reports that some wrestlers who aren’t advertised so far for the show are set to travel for the event.

Pro Wrestling Insider is reporting that Omos, Street Profits, Karrion Kross, LA Knight, and Rick Boogs have all made the journey to Saudi Arabia ahead of Night Of Champions. The 26th May 2023 edition of Friday Night SmackDown was pre-taped after last week’s episode (SPOILERS are available here) to allow the superstars to travel without the schedule being too tight, however it now seems there were some extra bodies on the plane.

There are many reasons why WWE may have made the decision to bring extra superstars to the show with them. There’s every possibility that extra matches could still be added to the show, whilst not being part of the event would allow these talents to perform media duties without also being part of the live show schedule.

The current card for Night Of Champions is as follows:

  • WWE Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships: Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa
  • Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya
  • Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair vs. Asuka
  • Intercontinental Championship: Gunther vs. Mustafa Ali
