WWE Considering Sending Omos To Another Promotion
Omos could soon be heading outisde of WWE for a second time.
In January, Omos wrapped up an impressive run in Japan, with hopes that he’d return to WWE and take the company by storm.
Despite being recalled from his starring role with Pro Wrestling NOAH, Omos is yet to return to WWE television, once again finding himself on the sidelines. The star hasn’t featured for the company since taking part in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024.
Omos Linked With Mexico Switch
In recent months, the talent exchange between WWE and AAA has been in full flow. WWE’s Los Garza are the current AAA World Tag Team Champions, making the most recent defence of their titles on July 11. On the show, NXT star Lola Vice teamed with Santino Marella against La Hiedra and Mr. Iguana.
Meanwhile, it’s been announced that El Grande Americanno will wrestle Octagon Jr. in Mexico on July 25.
In addition, Omos could soon join those stars, if a new report from Wrestle Votes is to be believed. According to the report, WWE has discussed sending the former Tag Team Champion to the promotion in an effort to mirror his success in Japan.
WWE creative has discussed sending Omos to AAA for a run, similar to his brief NOAH stint this past winter. Per source, the idea is to further establish him as a true special attraction outside the WWE bubble.
Despite his lack of appearances, back in June, Omos announced that he’d recently signed a new multi-year WWE contract. There’s no word on exactly how long the contract is for.
During the same interview, he said that he’s been training hard for a return to the ring, aiming to be ready whenever he’s called upon.
