WWE Scrapped WrestleMania Plans For More Legends

The Rock & The Undertaker at WWE WrestleMania 40

Two more WWE legends almost graced the stage at WrestleMania 40.

WWE wanted WrestleMania XL to be the biggest WrestleMania of all time, and the event that kick starts a whole new era for the company. While only time will tell whether those claims come true, it was an event that will live long in the memory of fans around the world.

WrestleMania featured surprise appearances from celebrities like Snoop Dogg and Travis Kelce, as well as names such as Stephanie McMahon, Bubba Ray Dudley, and more. While night one saw the in-ring return of The Rock, the main event of night two saw The Undertaker and John Cena make their presence felt.

However, according to Fightful Select, two more Hall of Famers almost appeared on the show.

The report noted that Trish Stratus and Lita were scheduled to appear during the Hall of Fame segment on night two, but those plans were nixed. The Hall of Fame class of 2024 was made up of Paul Heyman, Muhammad Ali, Bull Nakano, the US Express, Lia Maivia, and Thunderbolt Patterson.

New WWE Signings On The Way

Rumoured WWE signing Giulia was shown in the crowd watching NXT Stand & Deliver just moments after it was announced the company is introducing a Women’s North American Title. Giulia is expected to start with the company shortly after helping launch a new promotion alongside former STARDOM boss Rossy Ogawa.

Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu told those close to him that he’s signed with WWE. The former MLW star has been a free agent since February and has close ties to WWE as a cousin of Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos.
