WWE Scrapped Plans For Return Of Top Star

WWE boss Triple H

Plans for the return of a popular WWE star are now on hold.

Alexa Bliss hasn’t been seen on WWE television since losing out to Bianca Belair at the 2023 Royal Rumble. While away from the company, Bliss gave birth to her first child as well as battling a series of health problems including skin cancer and what she’s described as “postpartum health complications.”

However, it’s been reported for several weeks that the star is closing on a return to action, and her comeback was being discussed within WWE creative.

But according to a new report, all of those plans have been put on hold.

Alexa Bliss’ WWE Return On Hold

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, there were initial plans for Bliss to return several weeks ago on Raw in San Jose, possibly in connection with the Wyatt Sicks. Despite this, before the show all plans for Bliss were dropped, and the faction has moved to SmackDown. It’s believed plans for the group will now move forward “independent of anything related to Bliss.”

The creative plans were reportedly not the issue, and Bliss remains ready to return. One source noted the unspecified issue could be related to her contract, although this is unconfirmed.

Bliss is not featured in creative plans for the Royal Rumble.

By contrast, it appears that Charlotte Flair will be back on WWE television within weeks. Flair has been out of action since suffering a major knee injury in December 2023 that subsequently required surgery.

While several reports have hinted that Flair will be back in action soon, a new vignette for the star aired on the January 17th episode of SmackDown. The short clip was the first on-screen acknowledgment that the former Women’s Champion is on her way back.

There’s been speculation for several months that Flair will make her return in the Royal Rumble.
