WWE Scrapped Plans For Big Title Change After Seth Rollins Injury
A major injury to Seth Rollins has caused chaos.
In the closing seconds of the October 13 episode of Raw, Seth Rollins was savagely attacked by Reed and Bron Breakker, as the duo and Paul Heyman threw the World Champion to the curb. It’s since been reported that Seth Rollins is dealing with a shoulder injury picked up during his win over Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel.
Although Rollins still holds the World Heavyweight Championship, his reported injury has significantly sped up the storyline around The Vision. This included the star being banished from the group, which wasn’t due to happen for several months.
While there’s been no official announcement, it’s believed that Rollins will now vacate the World Championship. Also on Raw, CM Punk became the number one contender after beating Jey Uso and LA Knight. This was scheduled to set up a match between Rollins and Punk and Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Seth Rollins’ Injury Causes Major Shift
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that, as well as speeding up the downfall of the group, Rollins’ injury changed the tag team landscape on Raw. According to the report, Reed and Breakker had been scheduled to win the World Tag Team Championship, but those plans have now changed.
“In addition, there were plans for the Vision to dominate Raw even more very shortly with Rollins as world champion and Reed & Breakker as world tag team champions.”
It’s been announced that Cody Rhodes will feature on the October 17 episode of SmackDown. The appearance will be Rhodes’ first since he lost to Rollins at Crown Jewel.
