WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event To Return
WWE is going back to the future.
It’s been announced that WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will return on December 14th at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York. In a nice piece of trivia, that’s the same venue that hosted the first-ever episode of the show in 1985.
Presale for the event begins September 19th at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can register to receive an exclusive presale offering now by visiting WWE’s website.
Saturday Night’s Main Event launched in 1985 before being retired in 1993. It was brought back in 2006, but amid falling ratings and interest, it was shelved for a second time in 2008.
The show in December will be the first in a new series of quarterly specials on NBC. These were first confirmed as part of the deal that recently saw SmackDown move to the USA Network after five years with Fox.
The company confirmed the return with a new promo video on its YouTube channel.
Jesse Ventura Returning For WWE Special?
Interestingly, Greg Gagne recently claimed that Jesse Ventura will be returning to WWE TV on the relaunched Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The veteran suggested Ventura would be picking up a nice paycheck for the appearance, although there’s been no official comment on the situation. Ventura recently agreed a new Legends deal with the company, while he was a staple on the show during its 1980s heyday.
