WWE A Safe Place For Kids On Netflix Says Triple H
WWE is set to move to Netflix at the beginning of 2025 and if you were expecting a return to the adult themes of the Attitude Era, Triple H has some bad news.
WWE held an event at Netflix headquarters to celebrate its move to the streaming giant and lift the lid on what fans can expect from the move. The event provided the clearest sign yet that Becky Lynch is on the verge of a return to WWE after she left the company at the end of her contract in the spring of 2024.
It also provided WWE management Paul Levesque (Triple H) and Nick Khan to give more details about the switch. A lot has been made about WWE ditching its family-friendly presentation when it moves to Netflix but those expecting a return to the Wild West of the Attitude Era might want to pump the brakes.
WWE Still Aiming For Kids & Families
Variety has reported what Levesque said about a potential change of rating as the Chief Content Officer confirmed Raw will remain a safe place for all:
It’s a safe place for families, for kids, for everybody, to be able to view the programming. That will not change.
WWE President Nick Khan doubled down on Levesque’s assessment referencing the rumours about WWE seeking to push the boundaries:
There’s some online chatter about how it’s going to be ‘R’ rated or, for us old folks, ‘X’ rated. That’s definitely not happening. It’s a family-friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming. It’s going to stay that way.
WWE Raw will debut on Netflix on January 6th 2025 and the WWE Network is now free to fans in the UK and Ireland before it closes at the end of 2024.
