WWE Rumor – Braun Strowman Going Forward, Possible SummerSlam Feud
Over the past few weeks, there has been rumor after rumor, and a lot of fan resentment about Wyatt Family member Braun Strowman and a possible matchup with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32.
According to PWInsider.com Elite, many inside the WWE are saying that Strowman is improving more and more each day. They claim he is a lot better than what WWE TV has shown and he can do a lot more in the ring than what we’ve seen so far. It’s possible that Braun is being held back from showcasing how good he really is until Wrestlemania.
PWInsider.com also states that Vince McMahon himself sees Strowman as one of his pet projects, and wants to build him as a top tier talent. Vince is so hands on that everything about Braun, from the way he works, the way he takes bumps, even the way he’s presented, all comes from Vince himself.
WWE do have a long term plan for Strowman in place, even though his possible match against The Undertaker was shelved. There is some backstage talk that Strowman will face Brock Lesnar during the SummerSlam season if Braun has a good performance at Wrestlemania.
Ski’s Take – To me it’s been pretty obvious that Strowman was in line for the “monster” push. From the moment he arrived in the Wyatt’s as this super huge bad ass monster, as Bray’s enforcer.
What worries me slightly is that if it is true and Uncle Vince does have a hands on role in the way Braun is being shown and produced, does it mean he will be steam-rolling through other top tier talent. I’m thinking this because at the Rumble he faced Brock in the middle of the ring. Brock came off the ropes a few times and tried to take Strowman off his feet with a clothesline, which to me, looked like Braun was no-selling. Then after a third attempt, Brock delivered a very stiff clothesline which then knocked Strowman down.
Was Braun told by Vince and others not to sell anything, and then failed to tell others? Or was just Brock pissed and delivered the third clothesline super stiff? I don’t know……
But the worrying fact is that for the past two years us, the fans, have been led to believe that Brock is the biggest baddest bad ass since Mike Tyson prowled around in his boxing ring. Brock has gone through everyone that there is needed to go through, he ended the Undertaker’s Wrestlemania streak, he became WWE Heavyweight Champion. And with that pedigree (excuse the pun) behind him, we’re meant to believe that Braun is on that level?
To hold back until Mania to show off the man’s talents is a wrong move in my opinion. They need to begin to show them off now, in the run up to WrestleMania. Show that the dude is a beast of a man and that he does deserve to face Brock, Cena et al in the future.
But then I’m just a 38 year old man with no experience of running and booking a wrestling show (apart from 10 hours of playing Booking Revolution on my phone), with just a keyboard as my forum. Not a 70 year old man, with a lifetime’s experience and a billion dollar company.
