Romantic WWE Storyline With Top Star Pitched For Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green is arguably one of the most entertaining characters on WWE TV.

The former Women’s United States Champion is married to former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder). Her husband was recently namedropped on SmackDown in John Cena’s pipebomb promo. That promo was a recreation of CM Punk’s pipebomb that took place nearly a decade and a half ago.

When asked on his Notsam Wrestling podcast which memorable WWE moments he would like the company to recreate next, WWE analyst Sam Roberts disclosed that he wants to see Cardona return for Cena to put him in a wheelchair and push him off the stage, similar to what Kane did in 2012.

Meanwhile, Roberts suggested another scenario where Cena would send flowers to Chelsea Green following Cardona’s comeback, which would be a throwback to The Franchise Player stealing the Indies God’s on-screen girlfriend, Eve, 13 years ago.

In one of RAW’s memorable moments, Cena and Eve kissed after he saved her from Kane, only to be seen by the former Zack Ryder, who had just brought flowers to his on-screen girlfriend.

You know what? Maybe, yeah Zack Ryder returns and then like Chelsea Green gets flowers from John Cena or something, Roberts said. [1:05:45 onwards]

John Cena is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Title at Night of Champions

While Chelsea Green lost to Charlotte Flair last Friday on SmackDown, John Cena also suffered a defeat via disqualification in his match against R-Truth after he hit the latter with the Undisputed WWE Title.

Cena then put CM Punk, who came to Truth’s aid, through a table before delivering his pipebomb promo. The Franchise Player is now set to defend his championship against The Second City Saint at Night of Champions this Saturday.
